Logistical / Project Support
CLIENT REQUIRED: Lights, Grip, Makeup, interpreter, local fixer and sightseeing guide for their brief downtime.
SOLUTION: We located and liaised with local companies to get the people and equipment the client required. Our staff were on set for the duration, facilitating, interpreting and ensuring smooth relations between the four different parties involved.
In addition, we provided a guide to take members of the project out to traditional, authentic Japanese style restaurants and to do sightseeing and shopping.
If you are a logistics manager or a project manager and you need to send a team into Japan, we can offer the kind of support and local contacts that can make the difference between success and failure. We can certainly save you time on the ground and make your time here more productive.
We are also happy to run small projects for you, removing the expense of sending in your own project team.
A little background...
In your own country you may be used to just picking up a telephone and ordering what you want.
If so, provincial Japan may come as a surprise. Even if you can locate an appropriate party yourself, you may find that smaller Japanese companies are very cautious about doing any kind of business with you.
This is almost certainly because they are concerned about mis-communication and differences between their way of doing business and yours. You may find that this is a fundamental issue for them and one that you underestimate at your peril.
It isn't just the language barrier - a good interpreter will take care of that - it is the whole "way of doing business" that is different.
Approaching such companies through our Japanese staff gives them a reassuringly Japanese point of contact. The knowledge that our staff will be on site with you smoothing over any issues that may arise will also be deeply reassuring for them.
For you, having someone your project team can turn to to help you troubleshoot problems, who speaks your language but understands the local business culture may make the difference between the success and failure of your project.
In our experience, relying on an interpreter to act as troubleshooter rarely works. We can provide a dedicated facilitator.
